Wichita teen accused of impersonating an officer

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 15-year-old teen was booked for impersonating a police officer. It happened early Tuesday morning near 21st and Maize Road.

A 39-year-old man said he pulled over after a white Mustang with police lights began to follow him. The car went past him.

A short time later, an officer found the Mustang at 37th and Maize at a Kwik Shop. He began to investigate after seeing the light in the car.

The teen told the officer he admitted using the light to try to pull people over. He was booked for impersonating an officer and for a curfew violation.

Three other teens inside the car were booked with curfew violations.

Police said you can call 911 to confirm an officer is pulling you over.
