CLARK COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) – Two men were issued citations and had their boat and other equipment seized by Kansas game wardens for illegally fishing in Clark County in early July.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reports game wardens were checking anglers in Clark State Fishing Lake when they received complaints about a boat that might be involved in illegal fishing.
The agency made contact with two anglers on the boat and found they were using eight fishing poles. A further investigation revealed they were over the limit of catfish that had been stored in the boat.
The men were issued numerous citations, pleaded guilty and were fined nearly $850. In addition, their boat and other equipment were forfeited.
The boat will be auctioned off by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office with the proceeds used to purchase equipment for the game wardens.
