Several earthquakes in Oklahoma shake up Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The latest earthquake Friday night felt throughout Kansas was a 4.4 magnitude occurring at 9:04 p.m. CST according to the USGS website.

Many of you are telling KSN you felt it.

“Just felt vibrations of a quake,” says Mary O’Farrell of Smolan, Ks. “Rocked my rocker, side to side.”

The earthquake was one of six that occurred near Fairview, Oklahoma on Friday including a smaller aftershock of 2.8 magnitude.

People in Benton, Rose Hill, Park City and Great Bend tell KSN they felt the quake. One report has come in from as far north as Salina.

The USGS records a total of ten earthquakes in total with epicenters in Oklahoma throughout the day Friday coming from Luther, Blanchard, Medford and Fairview.
