Eisenhower Memorial Commission release video previewing Eisenhower Memorial design

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSNW) – The Eisenhower Memorial Commission today released Honoring Ike, a video introducing the design for the National Eisenhower Memorial and showcasing it within its setting in Eisenhower Square, adjacent to the National Mall and Capitol Hill.

Honoring Ike features interviews with the memorial’s designer, architect Frank Gehry; Senator Pat Roberts, Chairman of the Eisenhower Memorial Commission; President Bill Clinton and General Colin Powell, members of the commission’s Advisory Committee, and David Eisenhower, grandson of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The video is narrated by Tom Brokaw, also a member of the memorial’s Advisory Committee.

Viewers of Honoring Ike will learn about the challenges of capturing, memorializing and teaching future generations about Dwight D. Eisenhower’s remarkable life story and legacy – his journey from the Kansas Heartland to the world stage, and the pivotal roles he played in twentieth century history.
