WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Winning the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and the MVC Tournament Championship, the Wichita State softball team has landed an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Shockers have been selected to the Norman Regional and will be heading to Norman, Okla. with, No. 1 Oklahoma, Tulsa and Ole Miss.
Wichita State’s regional begins on Friday, May 20, as the Shockers will play, No. 1 Oklahoma, at 8:00 p.m., on ESPN.
This marks just the third time in school history that the Shockers have advanced to the NCAA Tournament with the last time being in 2005, when the team received an at-large bid.
