Andover investigating social media threat against middle school

ANDOVER, Kan. (KSNW) – The Andover School district Sunday reached out to parents and students via is website about a potential threat against Andover Middle School from a student that appeared on social media.

School district officials say they are taking the threat seriously and are working to investigate the threat.

Below is the complete text of the message posted on the school’s website.

Over the weekend a student posted a potential threat to the school on social media. It was reported to the authorities and all have cooperated fully with the investigation. Andover Public Schools takes any situation like this very seriously and student and staff safety is our top priority. At this time there is no danger to students and staff, but for extra precaution we will have additional security at the school tomorrow.

We appreciate that our Andover community takes these situations seriously and continues to report and communicate concerns that arise. Thank you for your continued support and trust in our schools.”
