WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita man who was arrested in connection with a March 3rd homicide was charged Friday in Sedgwick County district court.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joshua Thomas is accused of killing 35-year-old Brandon Walters who was found dead from a single gunshot wound inside a home in the 1700 block of South Roanoke.

Wichita police say a suspect in a homicide last month was arrested after a standoff with police Thursday morning. The standoff blocked roads near Orme and Waverly and Orme and Courtleigh in east Wichita.

Police say Joshua Thomas was arrested after running into a home and hiding. Thomas was arrested in the backyard of the home after falling through the attic.

Thomas’ bond was set at $250,000.  His preliminary hearing is set for May 5th.
