WASHINGTON (NBC News) – Donald Trump proved again Thursday he is not as conservative as many Republicans.

Speaking on the Today Show, Trump criticized North Carolina’s new law requiring transgender people to use public restrooms that match the sex of their birth.

After the law was passed celebrities are boycotting and corporations are threatening cutbacks costing the state money.

That’s what concerns Trump, but he also said Caitlyn Jenner could use the ladies room in Trump Tower.

“People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble, and the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife,” he explained.

Ted Cruz quickly accused trump of “political correctness”.

“Grown adult men, strangers, should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls,” Cruz told supporters.
