WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita public school officials are investigating a threat that occurred at Southeast High School on Friday.

In a message sent to parents, Southeast High School principal Chad Cushenberry said the threat was written on a bathroom wall at Southeast.

He said it referenced a potential threat that was to take place on Monday.

“We take actions like this seriously, and will not tolerate any activities that disrupt a safe school environment for our students.”

The message also said the school district’s Safety Services department would spend the weekend investigating the incident.

Parents were encouraged to speak to their children and ask if they had any information about the threat.

Cushenberry said there will be an increased safety and security presence at the school on Monday.
