STANTON COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) – A Colorado woman was killed Friday afternoon in a head-on crash with a semi in Stanton County in western Kansas.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say the woman was driving southbound on K-27 Highway shortly after 12:30 p.m. when her 2015 Chrysler 200 crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2014 Kenworth semi.  The crash occurred about 22 miles south of the K-27 intersection with U.S. 50/400.  That’s south of Syracuse and west of Lakin.

KHP identified the victim as 45-year-old Brenda Lasley of Springfield, Colo.

The 45-year-old Guymon, Okla. man who was driving the semi also was injured and was taken to the Stanton County Hospital.

Troopers did not give a reason why the woman’s car crossed the center line.
