Former Wichita substitute teacher arrested for soliciting a teen in Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma – A former substitute teacher for the Wichita school district is behind bars after he allegedly tried to meet up with a teen for sex.

Osage County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Paul Zimmerman Sunday in Ponca City according to Fox station KOKI.

Investigators said Zimmerman came to Ponca City to meet a teenage girl. They said they came into contact with Zimmerman through a chat room while he was at a Texas medical lab.

Deputies said Zimmerman worked as a teacher and private tutor. He worked as a substitute teacher in the Wichita school district in 2014 and 2015. A spokeswoman for USD 259 says Zimmerman has not substituted at all this year.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Department said Zimmerman could potentially have victims in Oklahoma, Kansas and even Wisconsin.

KSN News conducted a simple background check on Zimmerman and found a criminal misdemeanor case from 2005 in Wisconsin.
