WICHITA, Kansas – An overnight robbery at a southeast Wichita convenience store most likely left a clerk shaken but otherwise uninjured Saturday.

Wichita police say the incident occurred at the Kwik Shop in the 2700 block of S. Oliver at about 1:45 a.m.

Sgt. Joe Kennedy said the 26-year-old male store employee reported a man came into the business, pointed a handgun at him and demanded cash.  Kennedy said the clerk gave the man an unknown amount of cash after which the robber left on foot.

There were no other people inside the store at the time, Kennedy said.

The suspect is described as being about six feet tall, weighing about 170 pounds, and wearing dark clothing.  He was holding a black bag and carrying a silver handgun. Kennedy did not give the suspect’s age.

The investigation into the incident continues.
