Power restored to about 4,000 Westar customers in west Wichita

A power outage in west Wichita has affected about 3,000 Westar Energy customers.

WICHITA, Kan. – A power outage in west Wichita left about 4,000 Westar Energy customers without power Saturday morning.

Westar saud the outage occurred about 11:20 a.m., is impacting areas on either side of I-235 roughly from Towne West Square in the south to 21st Street North and Ridge Rd.

Sedgwick County dispatchers report there were numerous intersections where traffic is backing up due to the power outage.

Westar said power was restored to most of the customers by about 12:45 a.m.  Power should be restored to the remaining customer by about 2 p.m., Westar said.
