GREAT BEND, Kansas – There’s an effort moving forward in Great Bend to recall the school board after two separate attacks on school buses.
Brock McPherson, the attorney representing the mother of one of the alleged victims, filed a petition Thursday to recall the entire board.
The Barton County clerk says legally only three of the seven school board members can be recalled at one time.
It will be up to the county attorney to determine if the petition is approved or if it would need to be revised.
If approved, a specific number of signatures would be required to force a special election.
McPherson told KSN he expects to hear back on the status of his petition within a week.
The front page of the petition is shown below. KSN is not including any of the other pages of the petition because they include names that could identify the victim and his family.
