Dense fog leads to more than 120 canceled flights at Midway

CHICAGO (AP) — More than 120 flights have been canceled at Chicago Midway International Airport due to low visibility and rain.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said Sunday night that dense fog likely would cause additional flight cancelations at Midway on Monday morning. A spokeswoman for Southwest Airlines said all of the airline’s flights into and out of Midway between 7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday are canceled.

The city’s aviation department reported normal operations at O’Hare International Airport on Sunday night.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for Chicago’s lakefront and Lake Michigan with visibility at about half a mile.
