Suspect in custody in South Main stabbing

WICHITA, Kansas – One person is in custody following a stabbing that occurred south of downtown Wichita Sunday morning.

The stabbing happened around 11:45 a.m. in the the 2200 block of South Main.

Dispatchers confirm police the first officers on the scene found a victim stabbed several times, including in the face and back. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Wichita Police Sgt. Roger Runft said officers believe the attack followed a domestic dispute.  However, Runft said neither party was cooperating with police.

The investigation into the incident continues.
