Osage City beats Sabetha in boys 3A title game

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) – Duncan Fort scored 27 points to lead Osage City to a 56-49 win over Sabetha in the 3A state championship on Saturday.

Osage City ended the first quarter with only a 2-point lead, but by halftime Sabetha was 10 points behind. Sabetha closed the gap to 6 points by the start of the fourth quarter, but each teams’ scoring was close enough for Osage City to come out ahead.

Tyson Wilkins and Ryan Haskins both scored 11 points for Osage City, and Fort grabbed nine rebounds.

Sabetha’s Brock Frey sunk three 3-pointers and scored 14 points. His teammate Johnah Montgomery scored 12 points, and Alec Kirwan scored 11.
