WICHITA, Kansas – An exchange of gunfire in north Wichita Saturday resulted in damage to a vehicle but left the attackers and the victims unhurt.

Wichita police say the incident occurred about 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of N. Poplar when a 67-year-old man reported two males in a mid-2000 greet Mercury Grand Marquis fired shots at two other men.  The victims, one a 20-year-old and the other 22-years-old, were not injured.

Sgt. Steve Yarberry said the victims fired back at the suspect’s car.  The Mercury reportedly had a dent in the front passenger-side door.

It’s not known if the suspects were injured.  However, a silver Ford Taurus which was parked nearby, was damaged.

Yarberry said the two victims were taken to police headquarters to be interviewed but were not arrested.  He said it’s not known if there was an altercation between the victims and the suspects beforehand.
