3 critically injured in crash on Highway 54 west of Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Three people were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 54 west of Wichita Sunday afternoon.

Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies say the crash occurred shortly after 6:10 p.m. when a pickup truck rear-ended a car in the eastbound lanes between 135th Street West and 119th Street West.

Deputies said the victims ranged in age from 20 to 70 years old.

The two occupants of the pickup were not injured, deputies said.

U.S. 54 was closed for about an hour and a half following the crash.

It’s not known if any charges were issued as a result of the crash.
