3.6 magnitude quake hits Oklahoma

The USGS reports a 4.0 magnitude earthquake near Fairview, OK Sunday night.

FAIRVIEW, Oklahoma – Residents around Fairview, Oklahoma felt the earth move again Sunday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a magnitude 3.6 earthquake hit the area about 17 miles northwest of Fairview at 6:43 p.m. That’s about 167 miles southwest of Wichita.

At this time there are no reports of injuries or damage from the quake.

There have been numerous earthquakes around the Fairview area. Some attribute the quakes to oil and natural gas fracking in the area.
