WICHITA, Kansas – Former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius endorsed Hillary Clinton for president on Monday.

Seblius released the following statement:

“Hillary Clinton has dedicated her life to fighting for women, families, and children, and I am proud to endorse her candidacy for president. As a mother, a grandmother and a former public servant, who had the privilege of serving with Hillary in the President’s Cabinet, I can think of nothing more important than ensuring our next president is someone who will protect and build upon the progress made by President Obama over the past eight years. Hillary believes women’s issues are family issues, economic issues, and crucial to our future competitiveness, and she has demonstrated time and again in this campaign that she is the one candidate with the plans and experience to deliver real results for Kansans and Americans as President.”

Sebelius served as governor of Kansas from 2003 to 2009. In the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, she endorsed then-Senator Barack Obama.
