Police identify man found dead in northeast Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kansas – One man is dead following a shooting early Sunday morning in the 600 block of North Erie.  It happened around 5:15 a.m.

Wichita Police Sgt. Joe Kennedy said officers found the 26-year-old man in the street. He has been identified as 26-year-old Jaron Sanders.

Sanders was pronounced dead by emergency medical technicians.

Police say there was a party at the home. A fight broke out, and Sanders was shot.

Police believe there were several witnesses to the shooting.  They are currently looking for a suspect. They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111 or 911.
