WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita teacher arrested last week will be in court in Sedgwick County Monday to face allegations of child sex crimes.

Terry Lee Couch, 55, was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Sedgwick County jail just before midnight.  He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of suspicion of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Couch was released on bond Friday afternoon, and told KSN’s Brittany Glas as he was leaving jail, “[I] have to talk to my attorney, but I am innocent.”

Some former students and a friend told KSN they are surprised by the accusations against him.

Couch, a physical education teacher at Mayberry Middle School, was put on administrative by the Wichita school district earlier in February.
