WICHITA, Kansas – A woman who works at a Wichita fast-food restaurant reports she had a close call with a would-be robber.

The woman, who works at the Subway restaurant in the 4900 block of E. Pawnee, told police she was taking trash out of the back entrance of the building about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when she heard footsteps running toward her from the east side of the store.

Wichita Police Sgt. Steve Yarberry said she reported seeing a man with a revolver running in her direction with the gun pointed at her.

Yarberry said when the woman believed she was about to be robbed, she shut the door and called 911.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a black hoodie, jeans and an unknown color bandanna over his face.  The man reportedly was carrying a silver revolver.

Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
