One man injured in northwest Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kansas – A 34-year-old man was injured in a shooting Wednesday.

It happened just after noon in the 2700 block of North Amidon at a convenience store.

Two men were refueling at the Petro America when they got into an argument. Police say that is when one man pulled out a gun and shot a 34-year-old man in the upper body.

He was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The suspect drove away.

“At this point, we don’t know what the dispute was about. It was a physical disturbance, and the 34-year-old man was shot,” said Sgt. Bill Stevens, Wichita Police Department.

The suspect is believed to be driving a silver Grand Am or Grand Prix. Police are still interviewing witnesses and employees at the store.
