TOPEKA, Kansas — Members of a legislative committee are scheduled to meet Wednesday after they delayed approval of an audit into the Kansas Department for Children and Families last month. The agency has been accused of discriminating against same-sex couples in foster care and adoptions.
This is only one issue lawmakers are seeking more information about at Thursday’s committee meeting.
At December’s meeting of the Legislative Post Audit Committee, the committee decided to appoint a subcommittee to develop a comprehensive proposal for the audit.
We are expected to learn more information about the comprehensive proposal for the audit and the topics comprised in that request at Wednesday’s meeting.
KSN’s Brittany Glas is in Topeka and will attend the meeting at Noon. Expect a live report from her on KSN News at 5 and 6.
