WICHITA, Kansas– It’s a record breaking lottery and as the number rises, so do the players.

“Almost every customer, literally!” said QuikTrip store manager Dawn Smith.

“You put the word billion out there and how could you not get excited over a billion dollars,” said Powerball player Kurt Myers.

The turnout has been so high retailers have been working overtime the last three drawings.

“I hope somebody wins it, because we’re tired.  We’ve had people working extra,” Smith said.

As that drawing nears players try to imagine winning so much money.

“I’d have so many bank accounts I wouldn’t know where they all are,” said player Terry Kerstine.

“Really I don’t need that much money.  I could be happy with one million and the rest I’ll give up, make people happy!” said player Marx Galdemez.

Players seem to be well aware of their chances

“The odds are so far against you, but you got to take a try. How many times do you get this opportunity,” said Myers.

However, that hasn’t stopped their optimism.

“Do you think you’re going to win?”

“Uh I think so, why not?!” laughed Galdemez. “Probably going to be the lucky guy!”

The drawing is at 9:59 Wednesday night.  If no one wins again the lottery will continue.
