WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say they arrested three people in connection to a string of liquor store robberies in Wichita.

Police say the suspects were busted in the 5600 block of East Harry shortly after noon on Monday. Lt. Todd Ojile said the suspects entered the business.  One demanded money from the register, as the other gathered up liquor.

A person called 911 after the car with the armed suspects pull up to the business.

Police in the area responded, and they found the two suspects as they exited the store.  Both were caught in foot chases a short distance away.  Another suspect was waiting in the car behind the store.

“It is a great relief. Going back and looking at the robberies that they have committed over the last two weeks, they were all armed. You never know if they were going to escalate or what could happen when you have loaded firearms,” said Lt Ojile.

Ojile says the suspects are tied to at least six other robberies in the Wichita area.
