Kansas Highway Patrol reports fewer tickets and accidents over Christmas

WICHITA, Kansas – The Kansas Highway Patrol is releasing preliminary data from its Christmas weekend holiday activity. The reporting period for the holiday weekend ran from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2015.

During that timeframe, the patrol worked no fatal crashes. Personnel assisted 731 motorists over the holiday reporting period

Information in the table is compared to the Christmas weekend holiday activity from 2014. The 2014 reporting period was one day longer than the 2015 reporting period. For 2014, data was collected from 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014 through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014.
