Power restored after morning outage in East Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas — Westar Energy customers reported a power outage near east 13th Street and K-96 this morning.

Westar says the outage was first reported around 9 a.m. this morning. Approximately 1,300 customers were affected.

The cause of the outage according to a Westar spokeswoman appears to have been equipment failure.

Westar crews worked quickly to the repair the outage. Power was restored to the majority of customers within half an hour.
