TOPEKA, Kan. – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback Wednesday announced the appointment of Kevin M. Smith of Goddard as a District Judge for the Sedgwick County’s 18th District Court. Smith fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Eric R. Yost.

“I am pleased to appoint Kevin Smith to the 18th District Court,” said Governor Brownback in a news release. “His experience qualifies him to serve the citizens of the 18th district well.”

Smith currently has a private law practice in Wichita. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Sedgwick County. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and Regent University School of Law.
