WICHITA, Kansas – A lot of Kansans and people from other states have taken in Garth Brooks concerts in Wichita since Thursday.
Still more fans showed up at Intrust Bank Arena on Sunday to take in the country superstar’s last two shows.
The first show started at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, with the second show set for 7:30 p.m.
KSN was on hand to ask some fans what they thought about a delay for the second show, a possibility that could occur as crews at the arena work to clean up the building after the first show.
Heavy traffic and long lines didn’t put a damper on some concert-goers KSN talked with.
“We’d come down early and had breakfast, did some shopping and it was not bad at all,” said Carol Ondracek.
Becky Noonan also wasn’t flustered.
“So far, it seems real smooth. Look like it’s going to be easy to get to our seats and so forth. Real excited to get started,” said Noonan.
There was a bit of a delay for the second show at 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
“Last night, we said that from the beginning, we ended up about having an hour delay,” said arena manger A.J. Boleski. “The first show ended up about 9:40, we cleaned the building within 45 minutes, got everybody out. Cleaned the building at 45 minutes, reopened and were able to start at 11:30.”
When it came to Sunday night’s show, KSN wanted to know if fans were worried about it also being delayed.
“It’s just something people have to be patient with,” said fan Eric Chesterman. “The show is going to be worth it. At the end of the day, you’re happy you’re here.”
Arena staff said they only had two complaints from people who attended the concert.
KSN also wanted to know how police handled the crowd, and if they had any encounters with people leaving so far. Officers said they did not make any arrests Saturday night.
