Man initially arrested for WSU murder makes first court appearance

WICHITA, Kansas –A man suspected of killing a Wichita State University student in August was in court Friday facing first-degree murder charges.

Twenty-three-year old Isaiah Copridge was arrested on Thursday. Back in August, he was arrested, then released in connection with a murder on the Wichita State Campus.

Copridge also was charged with one count of aggravated robbery in the murder of Rayan Ibrahim Baba on August 9th.

We are working to find the details of his new arrest and we’ll bring them to you as soon as they become available.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of Fairmount Towers Housing around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say Baba was shot several times and died at the hospital.

Eboni Fingal also was charged with first-degree murder in Baba’s death.

Copridge’s preliminary hearing was set for December 19th.  He’s being held on $200,000 bond.
