WICHITA, Kan. (KSN) – The Wichita YMCA got into the giving spirit Wednesday with its annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Coat Drive.
The event is one of the largest community dinners in Wichita with more than 1,000 families served and more than 800 coats given to those in need.
“There is a need in a lot of larger communities and again we’re just happy to be able to serve and support our community by providing this meal and also support the YMCA,” said Community Bank President Jadd Munn, one of the organizers of the event.
The YMCA started the annual dinner more than 30 years ago. Wednesday’s dinner included Thanksgiving staples like turkey, green beans and pumpkin pie.
You can still donate gently used coats, jackets, hats and gloves to the YMCA.
