WICHITA, Kansas – A masked bandit armed with a pistol robbed a southeast Wichita business Sunday morning, making off with an unknown amount of money.
Wichita Police Sergeant Bob Gulliver said the incident occurred at the Dollar General store in the 1900 block of E. Pawnee about 9:50 a.m.
Gulliver said before the suspect entered the business, he was seen walking along the sidewalk in front of the business pulling a mask over his face. He said the bandit, armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, walked into the store, approached the clerk and demanded money. After the clerk put money in a bag the suspect ran northbound from the business.
After officers arrived on the scene they checked the area but did not locate the robber.
Police said there were customers inside the business at the time of the robbery but no one was hurt in the incident.
The investigation into the robbery continues.
