DODGE CITY, Kansas – The National Weather Service in Dodge City spent Tuesday surveying damage from several tornadoes that struck the state Monday night.

Preliminary reports show EF-2 damage from a tornado that moved from Ensign to Howell. More preliminary damage was found a few miles southeast of Montezuma.

At least 19 tornadoes were reported in western Kansas early Monday evening, snapping power poles and damaging sheds over largely rural areas.

The severe weather also brought several reports of hail across the state. The line of storms moved slowly east while individual storms moved northeast.

Meanwhile, several northwest Kansas counties were under a blizzard warning Tuesday.
