Royals decline mutual options on Guthrie, Rios

KANSAS CITY, MO (November 4, 2015) – The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have declined the mutual options on right-handed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie and outfielder Alex Rios. Both players will become free agents and are able to sign with any club beginning on Friday, November 6 at 11 p.m. CT.

Following today’s moves, the Royals’ reserve list is at 33 with three players – left-handed pitchers Tim Collins, Brian Flynn and Jason Vargas – on the 60-day disabled list.
