PHOENIX, Arizona (NBC News) – Halloween came early for drivers and pedestrians in Arizona as a giant inflatable pumpkin emerged from a group of trees before bouncing through a busy intersection.
In the video captured Thursday, you can see the 25-foot tall, 350 pound orange Jack O’ Lantern roll every which way and even across multiple lanes of traffic before it gets stuck beneath a street light.
The giant pumpkin then breaks free and rolls off into the distance to enjoy its freedom.
After the pumpkin got free from the street light it traveled about a quarter of a mile. It bounced over a wall, rolled through a business parking lot and eventually landed in a neighborhood park.
City officials said the pumpkin broke free from a Halloween display promoting a local party.
Luckily, nobody was injured in the great pumpkin escape, but it did cause some property damage.
