Former Heights teacher arraigned for sex charges

WICHITA, Kansas – A former Wichita school teacher was arraigned in Sedgwick County District Court Thursday on sex crimes charges.

Alan Martens is charged with two counts of unlawful sexual relations. Martens resigned from Wichita Heights High School this past March.

Court records show the alleged victim is under the age of consent. The Wichita School District said Martens was in his first year teaching at Heights when he resigned.
