PEABODY, Kansas – Four people, including two children, were hurt Thursday night near Peabody when a car and a semi collided on U.S. Highway 50.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. about two miles west of Peabody when a westbound Toyota crossed the center line and struck an eastbound tractor trailer truck.
The Toyota came to rest in the north ditch of U.S. 50 while the semi overturned and came to rest in the roadway.
The 25-year-old woman driving the Toyota, a boy, age eight, and a girl, age one, were injured in the crash. The 55-year-old man driving the semi sustained a possible injury but was not taken to a hospital.
The Patrol says the drivers and passengers were all wearing safety restraints.
