WICHITA, Kansas – More than 1360 pounds of expired or unused medications was collected on Saturday in Sedgwick County. It was part of the National Take Back initiative.
The medications were given to Sheriff’s Office personnel for proper disposal at previously specified locations in order to help protect kids and adults from accidental poisoning and to protect the environment.
The Take Back initiative is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration in cooperation with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
Many people are not aware of how to properly dispose of their unused medications. This initiative offered citizens of Sedgwick County a free and safe way to get rid of unwanted drugs.
