BUHLER, Kansas – Buhler fans were fired up Friday for defending state champs Andale.
The defense ruled the game. The surprise of the game was Andale got shut out.
“It feels unbelievable, it was a great effort, our defense was outstanding, if you shut out a team like Andale that’s unbelievable, cause they are powerful, and they’re strong and they run hard, and we shut them out,” said Steve Warner, Buhler Head Coach.
Offense wasn’t as strong for Buhler as 10 penalties cost them over 50 yards and a touchdown.
“We shot ourselves in the foot so many times in the first half with penalties, and we handled the adversity and came back and got the win. I know we can get it fixed, it’s just something we have to work on, and alignment was part of the problem and just being too quick off the ball, which is a good problem to have, but it’s something we can get fixed,” said Warner.
Buhler snapped their 25 year losing streak against Andale winning 16 to nothing. Next week Buhler will be playing Mulvane while Andale will be facing off against McPherson.
