2 people from Liberal indicted in methamphetamine case

WICHITA, Kansas (AP) – A 37-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been indicted on drug charges after prosecutors say more than 4 pounds of methamphetamine were found in a storage shed in Liberal.

The Hutchinson News reports Jose Alaniz-Hernandez and Anna Noreiga-Perez were indicted Wednesday. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, investigators served a search warrant Aug. 26 at a rented storage shed and found three Tupperware containers and 17 clear plastic bags containing approximately 4 pounds of methamphetamine.

The two suspects each face one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. They face a minimum of 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $4 million.

It was not clear if the two have attorneys.
