MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) – Mobile, Alabama authorities arrested a former Faith Academy teacher Tuesday afternoon.
Christina Busby, 33, is charged with two felony counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.
The sheriff’s office says on Aug 17th the mother of an 18-year-old who just graduated alerted Faith Academy that Busby had had an inappropriate relationship with her son. The sheriff’s office says on August 18th the school fired Busby, then notified law enforcement.
Mobile Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Burch says investigators can prove through text messages that Busby and the teen had two different sexual encounters while he was a student this past spring.
Burch says investigators do not believe any of the acts occurred on campus.
“There’s some talking leading up to and afterwards. So one could read the texts and conclude something did occur,” said Burch.
