OWASSO, Oklahoma – An Oklahoma man charged with the death of a 11-month old baby girl was arrested in Hutchinson.

Brandon Wade Nordstedt was charged with the murder of Emmy O’Rourke.  Owasso Police reported  Nordstedt was the mother’s boyfriend at the time of the murder.  He was alone with the victim at the time and the investigation concluded Nordstedt was responsible.  When paramedics arrived on July 11th, 2015 they found the baby unresponsive with unexplained trauma and only Nordstedt present.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force developed information Nordstedt was hiding out in Hutchinson with relatives.  U.S. Marshals were able to locate Nordstedt in the 900 block of Westridge Drive in Hutchinson the same day the warrant was issued for Nordstedt  in Oklahoma.  With the assistance of Hutchinson Police Department and Reno County Sheriff’s Department, Nordstedt was taken into custody peacefully and was booked into Reno County Jail.

According to KJRH-TV,  about 100 people attended a candlelight vigil for the little girl at the Owasso Police Department.  They gathered to mark what would have been O’Rourke’s first birthday. Her mother, Kaci Loud, said she felt justice was served when the warrant was issued.
