PARK CITY, Kan. – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx and Kansas Senator Jerry Moran were in Wichita Wednesday to meet with transportation and aviation leaders.
The purpose of the meeting was to hold a roundtable forum with area stakeholders from both state and local governments.
During the meeting, Wichita State University President John Bardo and John Tomblin presented Foxx and Moran with information about the National Institute for Aviation Research at WSU.
The two also heard from Shawnee County officials earlier in the day about the deteriorating conditions of the Willard Bridge in Topeka.
Other topics included congressional goals regarding air traffic control issues, the training of aviation workers, and the growing use of drones in the U.S.
