Suspect, victims identified in Dodge City shootings

DODGE CITY, Kansas – Dodge City police on Monday released more information in a shooting at separate locations on Sunday morning.

The suspect in the shooting is identified as 58-year-old Isaias Monreal.

Police say officers responded to a shooting Sunday in a hardware store parking lot found 55-year-old Jesus Ochoa-Morales, who was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Officers responded a short time later to a report of the suspect abducting 48-year-old Maria Monreal from the Wal-Mart at gunpoint.

Police located the suspect’s car in the 400 block of Crawford with the kidnapping victim inside  Police say as officers tried to make contact with the occupants, the suspect shot the woman and then turned the gun on himself.

Maria Monreal was transported to a hospital where she died. Isaias Monreal is in critical condition.
