UPDATE: Victim identified in northeast Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police were called to a shooting in Northeast Wichita Monday afternoon after reports of shots fired in the area.

Police found 42-year-old Dorce Pittman lying in the street. He had been shot in the head.

They say Pittman had come to a home to confront his ex-girlfriend around 3:30 p.m. Monday and subsequently fired shots at the house.

Police say it is unclear who shot Pittman or if the shooting was self-inflicted. The people at the home are cooperating with police.

If you have information about the shooting, you are asked to call 911.
