WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police said Friday, they are looking for a missing 4-month-old child.
Vincent D. Moore was last seen in the 3100 block of S. Hydraulic on the morning of July 11, 2015.
Vincent’s mother, Michelle Mendez is hoping that someone will recognize the 4-month-old child, and call police.
“It’s been incredibly frustrating and I mean its hurt a lot, up until the other day I didn’t have a reason to fear for their safety,” said Mendez.
Wichita Police Captain Jeff Weible said the department is asking the community’s help in finding the boy.
“Right now, our focus is finding the 4-month-old child and to determine if there is any criminal activity associated with the child’s disappearance,” said Capt. Weible.
According to Weible, Mendez dropped Vincent and his two year old brother off at their father, Gary Moore Jr’s house in the beginning of June.
Investigators say, Mendez then tried to contact Moore over the course of the next few days, but couldn’t reach him.
In mid-June, police say Moore was confirmed to be in Texas with both children, and came back to Wichita on July 9th.
The last time baby Vincent was seen was on July 11th.
Then just two days ago, Moore was pulled over and arrested for unrelated charges.
The toddler was there, and okay, but Vincent was not with him.
“I just started crying and shaking and I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know what to believe,” said Mendez.
Vincent’s family says they wont stop searching for the baby until he’s found.
“Just tell me where my baby is,” said Mendez.
Weible asks citizens to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 if they have information about Vincent’s whereabouts. Those with information also can text their tips to Crime Stoppers by dialing CRIMES (274637) on their mobile phones and beginning their message with TIP217.
