One person killed in crash on I-135 in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. – One person is dead following a one-vehicle crash on I-135 in Wichita Friday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 2005 Buick was northbound on I-135 from 13th street at around 10:15 a.m. when it tried to merge into traffic.  KHP says the driver of the vehicle lost control and struck a concrete barrier on the side of the highway.

Donald E. Cool of Park City, an 84-year-old passenger in the the car was taken to Wesley Medical center following the crash.  He later died of his injuries early Friday afternoon.

KHP says an 82-year-old woman who was driving the car and a 38-year-old man who also was a passenger were injured.
